New Member Survey
Jennifer Anderson

Greetings everyone,

I've created a survey to give everyone an opportunity to discuss our current resources. Kelly Brouillard has done an amazing job redesigning the webpage and creating our wiki and blog. Take a few moments and give these a look (if you haven't already) and then take the time to answer the survey questions regarding these pages.

We'd like some input about what works for you and how we can deliver more.

the survey is here. The password is TLANMRT.

thanks in advance,
Jennifer

Logo contest
Kelly Brouillard

When TLA’s new website goes live late this summer, each unit will have new web pages, and on these new pages there is space for their logo. Problem is, NMRT doesn’t have a logo!

So here’s your opportunity to use your creative talents and make your mark on NMRT….design our logo! The logo must incorporate NMRT and must be square in size. To see examples of unit
logos click here.

Deadline for design submissions is July 31,2010. All designs will then be posted for
NMRT members to vote for their favorite. Submit your design to tlanewmembers@gmail.com.

NMRT volunteers needed @ Conference
Kelly Brouillard

Dear New Members Round Table Members:

The Annual Conference is coming up sooner than we realize! We are working hard to make this year's NMRT booth a success. We still need more volunteers to donate 1 (or more!) hours of their time during exhibit hall hours. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me so I can schedule you in.

Yours,
Lynda Muller
Chair, Exhibit Hall Booth Committee

We still need your help!
Kelly Brouillard

At this year's TLA Annual Conference, NMRT will be conducting a raffle fundraiser from our booth in the Exhibit Hall. Proceeds from the raffle will go toward sustaining the NMRT General Fund which allows NMRT to do things like:

Host conference programs, such as this year's "Making the Most of Your Membership: TLA & You" and our co-sponsorship of the preconference "Links to Leadership: Newer Members Growing TALL"
Contribute to the TLA Legislative Fund
Sponsor NMRT members attending the TALL Texans Leadership Institute
And more!

Three themed gift baskets will be offered as raffle prizes, and we still need lots of help from NMRT members with donations of items to be included in the baskets. You can find a list of items we need donated on the NMRT Fundraiser wiki page: http://newmembersrt.pbworks.com/Fundraiser.

Monetary donations to go toward the purchase of raffle items are also welcome! Any monetary donations left over after the purchase of raffle items will be put into the NMRT General Fund.

Please visit the NMRT Fundraiser wiki page or email Kelly Brouillard, NMRT Chair at kbrouillard@twu.edu for more information.

Thanks for your help!

TLA Elections Coming Soon!
Jennifer Anderson

Greetings Everyone,

Elections for TLA are coming up soon. NMRT will be electing candidates for the positions of Secretary/Treasurer and Chair Elect.

This year we are offering something "extra"... in addition to the information provided on the TLA ballot (education, experience, association work) the candidates have all agreed and provided a more personal introduction.

Check out the NMRT Wiki (http://newmembersrt.pbworks.com/) and meet the candidates for next year's Board!

Cheers... and Good Luck!

New NMRT Wiki!
Kelly Brouillard

Greetings NMRT Members!

As you may have noticed, the NMRT website was drastically outdated and needed major revisions. Therefore, to allow NMRT officers to easily make the needed changes ourselves we have moved all of the information located on the NMRT web pages to the new NMRT wiki!

By using the wiki we can update the information ourselves as needed and not have to rely on the TLA webmaster. (Who, by the way, has been VERY helpful...thank you Mary Ann!!!) The NMRT website will still have a presence. The page now features a welcome message and links visitors to the wiki.

NMRT Website: http://www.txla.org/groups/nmrt/
NMRT Wiki: http://newmembersrt.pbworks.com

This conversion to the wiki also required us to create new electronic forms for both NMRT award applications. The Professional Development Grant and the Outstanding New Librarian Award both have new URLs for their electronic applications. You can find information about both awards, including links to their applications, on the NMRT wiki.

I apologize if this switch causes any confusion but we needed be able to update our information in a timely manner and this was the best alternative until TLA implements a new content management system for their web pages.

Please let me know if you have any questions and/or comments!

Happy Holidays!
