MaryJo:

For any of you looking for a vivacious speaker on moving between two cultures, Mitali Perkins is your perfect speaker. Also, if you think you understand nuances in books and movies related to cultural biases, think again. Mitali Perkins is a dynamic speaker who not only understands this straddling position, but also can help teens and adults understand the heartaches and joys which come when you live in two worlds. Her session was a gem. I hope we can have her back again to TLA.

One comment from a Jami Arnst in Houston ISD: "If I saw nothing else at this conference, this session made the experience worth the trip! Thanks!

I think that this was the perfect model of librarians from two different districts working together to show how they integrate TEKS and technology into library lessons. Then author, Jarrett Krosoczka, impressed us all speaking from his heart about our dedication to students and books.
